Physiotherapy and Equine Bodywork

Qualified veterinary physiotherapist (BSc. Hons. Veterinary nursing. Dip. Veterinary physiotherapy) and equine bodywork therapist (EEBW) based in Nidderdale, North Yorkshire. Having worked in the veterinary industry for 9 years, I take an animal-centred approach in treating patients, my treatments are guided by their subtle cues and I work with them to improve their wellbeing. With a BSc in Veterinary Nursing and as a member of the Register of Animal Musculoskeletal Practitioners (RAMP) you can be confident that I uphold a gold standard of professional treatment.

My background

From a very young age growing up on a small hill farm in Nidderdale, North Yorkshire I was surrounded by animals. I was fascinated by them and studied everything about them, from evolution and domestication to behaviour, movement and anatomy.

Working in the veterinary industry for the last 9 years as an RCVS registered veterinary nurse nurtured my curiosity for the body and how its form affects its function as well as the effect that we, as owners, carers, veterinarians and health professionals can have. During my career as an RVN I continued studying and achieved a first class honours degree (BSc Hons) in Veterinary nursing which gave me an initial insight into the world of rehabilitation

I qualified as an equine bodyworker after training with world renowned Debranne Patillo, (founder of the Equinology approach to equine bodywork) whilst I was living and working in New Zealand in 2018.

Becoming a bodyworker only strengthened my interest in the body and as a result I enrolled with the College of Animal Physiotherapy whilst still living in New Zealand and began the practical aspects of the course when I returned to the UK in January 2019 and after some intensive training became a qualified animal physiotherapist in May 2020.

About me

I am currently based near Pateley Bridge in Nidderdale, North Yorkshire, but cover Skipton, Ilkley, Ripon, Harrogate, Leeds, York and Thirsk for clients. I love getting to explore the beautiful Yorkshire countryside to visit clients and their animals.

I live with my two spaniels, Summer and Archie, my three wonderful horses; Lily, Buster and Elfine, cat, Boris and my kiwi partner Gary.

I compete in Endurance riding affiliated with Endurance GB with my arab x thoroughbred mare, Elfine and enjoy working with @connectiontraining to positively work with my horses and improve relaxation and connection with my horses in their training.

Aside from my work with animals I enjoy all outdoor sports; particularly running, rock climbing, hiking and paddleboarding with the dogs.
